Diquat 240 is a fast-acting, non-volatile herbicide used to speed crop dry-down and control labelled weeds. It becomes inactive on contact with soil and has no residual soil activity.
· Speeds up crop dry-down before harvest.
· Used for potato vine killing and labelled weed control.
· No residual activity after contact with soil.
Apply at the crop stage listed on the label. Complete coverage and clean water are essential. Most crops can normally be harvested 4 to 10 days after treatment; cool or wet weather can delay dry-down.
Canola, lentils, field peas, chickpeas, soybeans, dry beans, flax, mustard, sunflowers, legume forage seed crops and potatoes.
Crop desiccation, potato vine killing, corn spurry control in oats, stale-seedbed and directed vegetable weed control, and labelled non-crop uses.
Since kochia cross-pollenates easily, is a tumbleweed, and has wind-blown pollen, it is difficult to know if the glyphosate resistance found in western Canada was introduced from elsewhere, or if it evolved independently at the various sites already confirmed. Learn More >>
Spray early: Economics of early weed control
Early in-crop weed control will yield more than late control almost all the time. Early-emerging weeds tie up nutrients and moisture valuable to the crop. They also out-compete the crop for sunlight if their leaves cover canola seedlings. Learn More >>
